It is difficult to say what Norwegians' most important destinations in Italy are, as it can vary depending on interests, budget and purpose of travel. Nevertheless, based on travel trends and statistics, some popular destinations among Norwegians are:


The Italian wine and especially the popular Tuscan wines attract tourists

Rome:

  • The Eternal City is one of the most popular destinations in Italy, and it's not hard to see why. Rome has a rich historical and cultural heritage, and is home to some of the world's most famous landmarks such as the Colosseum, the Vatican Museums and the Trevi Fountain.


Tuscany:

  • Tuscany is known for its picturesque villages, beautiful landscapes and world-renowned food and wine. Popular destinations in Tuscany include Florence, Siena, Pisa and the Chianti area.




Venice:

  • Venice is one of Italy's most unique and romantic cities. The city, located on a group of islands in a lagoon, has a number of canals, bridges and architectural gems that make it a popular destination among Norwegians.


Amalfi Coast:

  • The Amalfi Coast, located south of Naples, is known for its dramatic coastline and beautiful scenery. Popular destinations along the Amalfi Coast include Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.


Sicily:

  • Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and is known for its rich history, culture and cuisine. Popular destinations in Sicily include Taormina, Palermo, and the Etna area.
